Judicial commission asked to submit report in 45 working days

The judicial probe commission will inquire into the loss of lives and violence from 16 July to 21 July during the nationwide quota reform movement, according to a gazette notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Thursday.
Besides, the commission led by High Court Division Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman got two new members – Justice KM Zahid Sarwar and Justice Mohammad Showkat Ali Chowdhury.
On 18 July, the government formed the judicial commission with Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman as its head.
“The government is forming the three-member commission in line with Section 3 of Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1956, (Act No VI of 1956) to probe the deaths, violence, subversion, arson, plundering, terrorist activities and incidents of damage from 16 July to 21 July,” read the notification.
It also said the commission would submit its report to the government in the next 45 working days.
