JnU students to get modern lab facility in our new campus : VC Sadeka Halim

Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University, Prof. Dr. Sadeka Halim said, “Our students will get modern facilities and safe labs in the new campus. Students should be determined and involved in various co-curricular activities. Jagannath University is moving forward, our students will take this university forward.”
The vice-chancellor stated this on Monday at the seminar titled 'Genome Editing' organized by the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and the Faculty of Life and Earth Science jointly at the central auditorium of the university on Monday.
The Vice-Chancellor also said, “A scientist will be self-interested only when the results of his research are easily understandable to everyone. Our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is encouraging scientists to research genome editing. Because genome editing helps our farmers increase crop production.”
This seminar is chaired by Prof. Dr. Sumaiya Farah Khan, chairman of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
Under her chairmanship, treasurer of the university Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury and Dean of Life and Earth Science Faculty Prof. Dr. Mallik Akram Hossain were present as special guests.
In addition, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Department Professor Dr. Md.Tofazzal Islam gave his speech as an invited speaker in the seminar.
It is to be noted that, teachers and students of various departments of the university and other researchers were present at the event.
