Jamaat protests in Gazipur demanding registration, release of Azharul Islam

A protest march was held in Gazipur district town demanding return of registration of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and release of ATM Azharul Islam on Tuesday.
Thousands of leaders and workers of the organization participated in the protest march.
The march started at 10 am at Shibbari intersection in Gazipur at the initiative of Gazipur Metropolitan and District Branches.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Gazipur Metropolitan Nayeb-e-Ameer and Central Majlis-e-Shura Member Hossein Ali said, "Today's rally and protest march are to demand return of registration and release of Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam."
He said, many of our leaders have been hanged unjustly before. The whole world knows that this was done through a false tribunal.
He said, our Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam is still in jail. We want his release.
He said, we will continue the movement until our registration is returned and Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam is released.
Jamaat's Central Working Committee Member Principal Izzat Ullah, former Central President of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Gazipur Metropolitan Working Committee Member Principal Salahuddin Ayubi, among others, spoke.
