
Jamaat holds protest march in Nawabganj against rising commodity prices

In protest against the continuous rise in commodity prices, the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nawabganj Upazila branch held a welcome march for the month of Ramadan and demanded to protect the sanctity of Ramadan.
A welcome march was taken out from the Bagmara Court Building ground in Nawabganj Upazila at 10 am on Friday and a short road rally was held at the Central Shaheed Minar through the upazila gate, Kaikobad Chattar and the city hall.
The speakers at the road rally called for hotels and restaurants to be closed during the day to protect the sanctity of Ramadan. The speakers told the businessmen to keep the prices of daily necessities under control to serve the fasting people during the holy month of Ramadan.
The event was moderated by the assistant secretary of the Nawabganj branch of Jamaat-e-Islami, Mamunur Rashid. Former Ameer of the Upazila of Upazila of Jamaat-e-Islami, Minhaj Uddin, former president of Dhaka District Chhatra Shibir and secretary of Nawabganj Upazila West branch, Mostaq Ahmed, and Ameer of Nawabganj Thana West Jamaat, Maulana Harun-or-Rashid. The closing speech was delivered by Maulana Mohammad Ali, secretary of Nawabganj East branch of Jamaat-e-Islami. Maulana Mokarram Hossain, Mahbubur Rahman, Ramiz Uddin Master, Maulana Abdul Quddus, members of the Thana Karma Parishad, among others, were present.
