Campaign to keep daily necessities affordable in Mirzaganj

Mirzaganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate conducted a mobile court campaign to keep daily necessities affordable in Mirzaganj Upazila on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
On Sunday , the first Ramadan, UNO and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Tariqul Islam conducted this campaign in Subidkhali Bazar of Mirzaganj Upazila, Patuakhali. The campaign was conducted with the aim of ensuring that no unscrupulous trader can increase the prices of daily necessities during the holy month of Ramadan, that essential goods are within the purchasing power of the people, and that daily necessities are affordable.
Mobile courts were conducted in Subidkhali Bazar of Mirzaganj Upazila.
During this time, a fine of 5,000/- taka has been imposed in 5 cases for the crime of not maintaining the price list, storing food in an unhygienic manner, etc. under various sections of the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009.
At the same time, various instructions have been issued. In addition, instructions have been given to remove illegal shops and extensions of shops on the side of the road and on the sidewalk. Shamim Hawlader, OC Mirzaganj Police Station, his accompanying force, Union Parishad Chairman, and market committee leaders were present.
