The role of innovative power is essential in the progress of the country's development. Mr Shamshur Rahman Khan, Additional Secretary of Technical and Madrasah Education Division mentioned in his speech of the chief guest at the skills and innovation competition and award giving ceremony organized in Barishal on Tuesday.
The event was organised at the Barishal Club with the assistance of the Accelerating and Strengthening Skills for Economic Transformation (ASSET) project under the Directorate of Technical Education, Technical and Madrasah Education Division, Ministry of Education.
A rally and seminar on the importance of technical education were also organised.
Mr Shamshur Rahman Khan emphasised the vital role of the young generation's intelligence and innovative power in the country's development journey. He also added that, if their innovative power is effectively utilised in building a Smart Bangladesh, the country will progress rapidly.
Mr. Md. Sohrab Hossain, Additional Divisional Commissioner, Barisal Division and Mr Shahidul Islam, Deputy Commissioner, Barisal were present as special guests.
The event was chaired by Md. Abdur Rahim, Additional Project Director (Deputy Secretary) of the ASSET project. Apart from him, many other project-related officials, district administration officials and others were also present at the event.
