
Independent candidate Jamal Miah’s public rally in Faridpur turns into a human sea

The grand rally of independent candidate Jamal Hossain Miah from Faridpur-2 parliamentary seat turned into a human sea on Thursday.
People from all walks of life irrespective of political affiliation thronged the meeting held on the ground of Saltha Government Model High School in Saltha upazila this afternoon.
Jamal Hossain, who serves as the trade and commerce affairs secretary of the ruling Awami League and holds the position of general secretary in the Nagarkanda upazila unit of the Awami League, is participating in the 12th parliamentary election from the constituency as an independent candidate.
Thousands of people from different parts of the area equipped with banners, placards and colourful festoons started gathering at the meeting venue this noon by holding processions.
At a certain point, the meeting venue became flooded with a massive gathering of activists and supporters of the independent candidate. The entire area, including the meeting place, resonated with the spirited slogans of "Eagle," the electoral symbol of the independent candidate.
At this moment, Jamal Hoaasin, also executive director of Bashundhara Group, took to the podium and exchanged greetings with the local people.
Claiming him as the son of a freedom fighter, Jamal Hossain came up with several pledges including overall development in the area and sought vote for Eagle in the 7 January election.
“I am committed that I would remain beside you all the time if I win in the election with your votes,” he said, assuring that he will deal all sorts of terrorist activities including extortion, drug trading and corruption with a strong hand.
