The great Independence and National Day-2025 was celebrated with due dignity at Goalando, Rajbari on Wednesday.

To mark the day, the day began with a 31-gun salute at 12:01 am. As the sun rose, the national flag was hoisted at the proper height on all government, semi-government, autonomous and private buildings in the upazila, and at 8:30 am, the upazila administration paid humble tribute to the martyrs by placing wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar in Goalanda.

UNO Md. Nahidur Rahman and other government officials and employees of the upazila paid tribute on behalf of the upazila administration. Later, Goalanda Ghat Police Station and Goalando Municipality paid tribute by laying wreaths. After that, various government and non-government organizations, political organizations, cultural organizations and educational institutions paid tribute to the martyrs one by one.

Later, at around 9 am, the Day was inaugurated by the Upazila Executive Officer Md. Nahidur Rahman, Goalanda Ghat Police Station OC Mohammad Rakibul Islam, along with freedom fighters and political leaders, who were present as the chief guests at the Upazila Court premises, playing the national anthem, hoisting the national flag, and releasing balloons and pigeons. Later, a rally of students, a parade and physical exercises were performed by the Bangladesh Police, Ansar-BDP, Fire Service and Civil Defense. Various programs were organized throughout the day, including greeting guests at the primary and secondary levels, and awards and crests were distributed among the first-stage competitors and guests.
