Illegal structures evicted in Nalitabari

The upazila administration has evicted the illegal structures from the land occupied by Nayanikanda new Garuhati area of Nalitabari municipality of Sherpur.
On July 8, 2024 at 2 pm Nalitabari Upazila Parishad Chairman Haji Md Mosharf Hossain and Mayor Alhaj Abu Bakkar Siddique along with local dignitaries and about three hundred ordinary farmers conducted the eviction operation by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Masud Rana.
The UNO said that Nayanikanda Mohalla residents of Nalitabari municipal area have complained to the upazila council and administration that Takijul Islam has forcibly filled the government private land and blocked the road for construction of houses and water drainage. In view of that, we came to the surface and conducted the evacuation operation to rescue the government land and the work of digging the canal to drain the water is going on.
Upazila Chairman Haji Md. Mosharraf said that during my term as Chairman, no dishonest person can steal the benefits by making common people suffer. Nalitabari Upazila Parishad has adopted zero tolerance policy against injustice.
Municipal Mayor Alhaj Abu Bakr Siddique said at the time that we will look into how much space the government has for a permanent solution to flooding. Especially in the urban area, no land grabber could be established before, the emergence of land grabbers will not be allowed.
