Illegal construction stopped in Kalia following administrative intervention

An attempt to construct an illegal structure in violation of existing restrictions at the central intersection of Kalia Municipality in Narail was thwarted by swift administrative action following complaints from local residents.
According to locals, Haji Sheikh Hafizur Rahman Habi, owner of Rangdhanu Cosmetic Store, was instructed by both the Kalia Municipality and the Upazila Administration to cease construction at the intersection. However, taking advantage of the government holiday on Friday and Saturday, he allegedly continued the construction work in secrecy.
Upon being informed by residents on March 7, UNO Md. Rasheduzzaman arrived at the site and immediately ordered the illegal construction to be halted. The shop owner was also issued a stern warning for repeatedly violating the prohibition.
Local residents have welcomed the administration's prompt response and have urged the municipal authorities to maintain stricter surveillance to prevent future encroachments and unauthorized construction on public roads.
