Ibn Sayed Angkur honoured as best emerging multimedia journalist at Channel i

In the rapidly evolving landscape of digital journalism, Channel i Online has strengthened its position through a blend of courage, accuracy, and creativity.

Marking its 11th anniversary and stepping into its 12th year, the platform organized a special event where Ibn Sayed Angkur was awarded the prestigious “Best Emerging Multimedia Journalist” a recognition widely seen as a significant milestone in his professional journey.

The event took place on Monday (April 20) at 4:00 PM on the rooftop terrace of the Channel i building with the theme “Journalism in the Age of Algorithms.”

The programme was graced by the State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Yasser Khan Chowdhury, who presented the award to Angkur.

This year’s theme, “Fearless Independent Courage,” reflected a firm commitment to tackling the challenges of digital journalism. Awards were presented across multiple categories, where Angkur's recognition as an emerging multimedia journalist particularly stood out.

Expressing his feelings, Ibn Sayed Angkur said that the award is not merely a certificate but a reflection of his long journey marked by struggle, learning, and self-belief. He emphasized that consistent effort, learning from mistakes, and a forward-looking mindset have brought him to this position. He also noted that the recognition will inspire him to work with greater responsibility and commitment.

Ankur extended his gratitude to his colleagues, well-wishers, and everyone who believed in him, stating that this achievement is not individual but the result of a collective journey.

Among others present at the event were poet and academic Afroza Soma, journalist Shawkat Hossain Masum, and Dhaka University academic Dr. Imran Hossain, along with distinguished personalities from various fields. The program was hosted by Channel i’s Chief News Editor, Mir Masrur Zaman Rony.

The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony. Channel i Online, which began its journey on April 20, 2015, has consistently earned audience trust through objective reporting, fact-checking, and responsible journalism. The organization expressed its commitment to strengthening this legacy in the years ahead.

This recognition of Ibn Sayed Angkur is not only a personal achievement but also a source of inspiration for the new generation of multimedia journalists demonstrating that talent, perseverance, and integrity together pave the way to success.
