Journalist unconscious in hospital as Chhatra Dal terrorist attacked in Kalapara

Chhatra Dal has carried out a terrorist attack on Moazzem Hossain (40) of the national daily Ajker Patrika for publishing news in Kalapara, Patuakhali.
The incident took place at around 8:30 pm on Saturday in the Sadar Road area adjacent to the fish market in the municipal town.
After the incident, the injured journalist was rescued and taken to Kalapara Hospital. After the initial treatment, the on-duty doctor Dr. Mahbubur Rahman referred him to Barishal Sher-e Bangla Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. The injured journalist Moazzem is currently undergoing treatment in Barishal. He is the Kalapara correspondent of the national daily Ajker Patrika and an assistant teacher at Nur Mohammad Secondary School.
The injured journalist Moazzem Hossain said that he was sitting in a mobile servicing shop around 8 pm. At that time, 7/8 Chhatra Dal leaders and activists led by Upazila Chhatra Dal General Secretary Fahim and Mozahar Uddin Biswas College Branch Chhatra Dal General Secretary Bellal attacked him twice.
He said that this terrorist attack was carried out on him after he published news about the attack on his sister's home in the Badurtali Sluice area of the city on June 21.
When we tried to contact Upazila Chhatra Dal General Secretary Amirul Islam Fahim to find out about this, he refused to talk.
When contacted on the mobile phone of College Chhatra Dal Secretary Bellal, he said that he was in Barishal all day to take part in the LLB exam. I came to know about the incident after returning to the area in the evening.
Patuakhali District Chhatra Dal Member Secretary Md. Zakaria Ahmed said that the matter is regrettable. They are investigating the incident and organizational action will be taken against those involved in this incident.
Upazila BNP Secretary Adv Hafizur Rahman Chunnu said, the district Chhatra Dal was asked to take party and organizational action against those involved in this incident after the Upazila BNP meeting last night.
Kalapara Police Station OC Md. Nazrul Islam said, we are aware of the matter. A case will be registered if a written complaint is received.
