Human chain protesting Duronto Biplob murder at JU

The teachers, current and former students of Jahangirnagar University’s (JU) Drama and Dramatics Department staged demonstration on the campus protesting the murder of former JU student and Awami League leader Duronto Biplob on Wednesday.
Over 100 teachers, current and former students of the university organised a human chain on Dhaka-Aricha highway, adjacent to the main gate of the university, on Tuesday.
Addressing the human chain, AKM Yusuf Hassan, Professor of Drama and Dramatics department said, "We know that his death is totally unusual. We mourned and agitated. The current and former students expressed solidarity with this human chain. We urge the government to ensure exemplary punishment."
Duronto Biplob was a member of Awami League’s Agricultural Affairs Sub-committee and former student of 19th batch of Drama and Dramatics Department of Jahangirnagar University.
Earlier, on November 7, Duronto arrived at his workplace at 3.15pm and left half an hour later. But he was missing since the time and later his dead body was found floating in the river in the Pegla area of Narayanganj’s Fatullah on Saturday.
