Ibrahim Himu, director of the Domestic Cultural Association, Abdul Alim, representative of the conscious citizen society, and Ibrahim Hossain, representative of the Bangladesh Blood Donor Society, spoke at the rally. The speakers alleged irregularities in the hospital's medical services, tests, patient management and administrative activities and demanded immediate effective action. Habibur Rahman, a resident of Myamari village in Amzhupi Union, who was a victim of the rally, alleged that he came to the hospital to get an X-ray done on the advice of a doctor. But the hospital staff told him that it was not possible to conduct the test there and it would have to be done from outside. He expressed his anger over the incident.
However, it was alleged that the superintendent expressed reluctance to talk to the representatives. Civil society leaders said that such behavior of a responsible official of a public service institution is regrettable.
