Journalist couple Sagar-Runey's murder investigation report has been suppressed hundreds of times and the main culprits of the murder have not been brought under the law so far.

In his speech, the chief guest said that during the last 15 years of dictatorship, the media was blocked by the hands of robbers - lumpen - murderers and allies of the dictatorship - the development of free intelligence and thought was hindered.

A class of editors-journalists without policy knowledge indulged in the ugly competition to enjoy the surplus of power, enjoyed hundreds of crores of taka, plots, flats, cars-houses, jobs in foreign embassies, and sang the praises of the dictatorial government. But honest, fearless and righteous journalists have lived a life of hardship for years.

The speakers said that the mainstream and senior journalists have been silent for a long time in demanding the trial of the murder, but the journalists who are aware of the anti-discrimination journalists have always been vocal on this issue.

All journalist victims including Sagar-Rooney should be prosecuted and their family members should be assisted and rehabilitated.
