Students have formed a human chain and protest march in Tongibari, Munshiganj, protesting against the nationwide theft, robbery, and rape and demanding maximum punishment for rapists on Wednesday.

A human chain program and protest march were held at Besnal intersection in the upazila at 10 am.

The march started from Besnal intersection and ended at Kamarkhara Bazar. The students participating in the human chain said that rape in buses, rape of children while offering flowers at Shaheed Minar, rape of a daughter in front of her mother, rape of a sister in front of her brother, rape of a wife in front of her husband are happening, so what is our 24-hour independence? Regarding the silent role of the administration, the students also said that theft, robbery, robbery, and rape are increasing but the administration is calm. The police have no role. The police are collecting salaries and are sitting at home eating and sleeping. They also said that since August 5, the law and order in the country has been disrupted day by day. For this, they want strict accountability from the administration. Is the administration's job just to sit at the police station and drink tea? And if this government cannot provide security to the people, they warned that we will take to the streets again.

Anti-discrimination student representatives Abdul Alim, Sajid Islam, Saiful Islam Himel Khan, Anand, Sohag Sheikh, along with general students and local people from various educational institutions of Dighirpar and Kamarkhara were present in the human chain and protest march organized by the Dighirpar student society.
