
Houses destroyed by Baisakhi in Dimla

In Dimla of Nilphamari, about a hundred houses were destroyed by the 'Kalbaisakhi' storm on Thursday .
Besides, the trees are uprooted. Electricity poles were broken and wires were snapped at various places. Electricity supply has been stopped since morning.
On the spot it is seen, many homes have been destroyed in the Kalbaisakhi storm. Trees are overhanging the house.
Especially in Khalisha Chapani Union of upazila, more than half a hundred houses of Baishpukur, Dalia small sector have been destroyed. The victims are living under the open sky. Around hundred houses have been destroyed along with other unions of the district. They are now living in inhuman conditions.
The victims said that around ten o'clock this morning, the Kalbaisakhi storm completely blew up our house. We are now living under the open sky. If we don't cooperate, we have to stay on the streets.
Station Officer (Acting) of Dimla Fire Service Md. Mozammel Haque said, "Trees have been broken at various places and are lying on the road and houses. We are continuing to work to remove them. We will continue to work until it is removed.
Shahanur Islam, UP member of Khalisha Chapani Union, said that a lot of houses were destroyed in my union in Kalbaisakhi storm this morning. Many families are living under the open sky.
