Health Minister Dr. Samanta Lal Sen has promised to increase Rupganj Upazila Health Complex from 50 beds to 100 in order to improve the quality of treatment and ensure health services.

The minister said this while visiting Rupganj Upazila Health Complex and Zinda Community Clinic in Sabashpur area of Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj on Saturday morning.

On October 11, 2024, Health Minister Samant Lal Sen visited the Rupganj Upazila Health Complex of Narayanganj to select health programs and improve the service quality of community clinics with the participation of the health departments of 35 states of the country under the World Health Organization (WHO).

During the visit, Health Minister Samanta Lal Sen said that recently there has been a fear of snake infestation called Russell Viper. Govt hospital upazila level has antivenom to kill snake venom. There is also in Rupganj Upazila Health Complex. There is nothing to panic about.

At that time, in the face of the demands of local activists and health officials, the minister further said that the location of this health complex in Rupganj is in a very pleasant environment. Communication system is also good. Soon we will work to increase it from 50 beds to 100 beds.

He believes that if the quality of medical services in the upazila health complex is improved, the pressure of patients in the hospitals of the divisional cities including the capital Dhaka will be reduced a lot.
