Hannan Masud honoured with 'Friend of Landless' in recognition of contribution to landless in Hatiya

Abdul Hannan Masud, Senior Joint Chief Coordinator of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) and Chief Organizer of the Central Convening Committee of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has been honoured with the title “Friend of the Landless” in recognition of his significant contributions to the development of island dwellers and the realization of their rights.
The title was awarded on behalf of landless families at a ceremony held in the hall room of Hatiya Government College recently. The event was attended by human rights activists, journalists, and representatives of non-governmental development organizations from various parts of Hatiya.
Abdul Hannan Masud has long stood by the landless families of coastal and char (island) areas, working for their housing and land rights. His work in Hatiya, an island upazila of Noakhali, has been particularly well-regarded.
Receiving the award, an emotional Hannan Masud said, “I dedicate this honor to those with whom I have stood in their life struggles. This fight will continue until the fair rights of the landless are realized.”
Leaders of various organizations at both local and national levels have praised Abdul Hannan Masud’s achievement. They said that his recognition will serve as an inspiration for others.
