A view exchange meeting was held at the initiative of RMP in the conference room of the headquarters of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP).

Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Khondkar Azim Ahmed, Chairman of Rajshahi Development Authority S. M. Tuhinur Alam and RMP Police Commissioner Mohammad Abu Sufian attended it.

On the occasion, relocation of bus stand to Noodapara, installation of closed circuit cameras, completion of road dividers at Saheb Bazar, designation of designated area for hawkers, movement of autorickshaws by color, control of number of autos and not giving replacement autos, training of auto drivers, specification of auto stands, dumping Discussions were held regarding its location and introduction of traffic signal system in the city.

In the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner said that a peaceful and green city like Rajshahi can be improved through orderly traffic system. This initiative of RMP is highly commendable. For its successful implementation, the cooperation of the city dwellers is essential.

At that time, the police commissioner said that since joining Rajshahi as police commissioner, he has undertaken various activities to ensure the safety of the city residents and improve traffic management.

Notable among these is that information and service centers were launched in RMP to deliver police services more easily to the city dwellers. Awareness workshops are organized for drivers and vehicle owners to decongest traffic and prevent accidents. A special plan has been adopted in consultation with the Rajshahi Senior Citizen Forum and local market representatives to improve traffic management in Saheb Bazar zero point area, one of the busiest areas of the city. Already, the city dwellers have started getting the benefits of this initiative.

On the other hand, the school visiting program was launched to make school and college students aware about drugs, evictions, cyber crimes, traffic laws and juvenile crimes, which will play an important role in building a safe and beautiful society by increasing awareness among school-college students, the Police Commissioner expressed hope.

Senior officers of RMP and Rajshahi District Police, dignitaries, representatives of business organizations, senior citizens forum and officials concerned in traffic management were present in the exchange meeting.
