Govt wants to invest most in education sector : Bobby Hajjaj

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj said that investment in the education sector will increase further. We want to take the education budget to 5 percent of the GDP. Activities are underway to bring all necessary changes, from infrastructure to technology, wherever changes are needed.
He said these while visiting Mokampunji Government Primary School in Jaintapur Upazila of Sylhet at 10 am on Tuesday.
When the State Minister reached the school, the young students of the small ethnic group Khanshia community warmly welcomed him by wearing traditional Khanshia paan-supari garlands. About 90 percent of the students of the school are from the Khanshia community and tea-worker families. During the visit, the State Minister visited each classroom of the school.
In response to various questions from journalists, the State Minister said that there is currently no plan to nationalize any private primary school. However, all educational institutions in the country will be brought under the government's policies and regulatory framework. He said that by 2028, all educational institutions will have to be operated under the prescribed policies on a mandatory basis.
At that time, Divisional Deputy Director (Acting) Primary Education Sylhet Saiful Islam, Sylhet District Primary Education Officer Shakhawat Ershad, Assistant Director (Training) of the Primary Education Department Dhaka Abdul Alim, Jaintapur UNO Sunanda Roy, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Kanaighat Circle Salman Nur Alam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Monirul Islam, President of Jaintapur Press Club Golam Sarwar Belal, Investigation Inspector of Jaintapur Model Police Station Al Amin Mir, Former Chairman of Jaintapur Union No. 2 Haji Alamgir Hossain, Jaintapur Upazila Education Officer (Acting) Md. Julhas, Headmaster of the school Ajmal Ali and President of the Governing Body Imam Uddin were present at the inspection ceremony. After the State Minister, he inspected Telijuri Government Primary School and other government schools.
