A day-long free eye treatment camp was organized in Faridpur by the Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf Memorial Council and the Lions Club of Dhaka, Sugandha. The event took place on Wednesday  at 11 a.m. at the Faridpur Press Club auditorium.

The camp was inaugurated by Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, the eldest daughter of the late Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf, former minister and Central Joint General Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Women’s Party, as the chief guest. The event was chaired by Professor ABM Sattar, President of the Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf Memorial Council and editor of Dainik Fatehabad.

Speeches were delivered by notable figures, including prominent educator and social worker Professor M.A. Samad, young industrialist Chowdhury Farian Yusuf, Faridpur Press Club President Kabirul Islam Siddiqui, DAB Faridpur President Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Shamim, Faridpur Diabetic Association General Secretary Professor Sheikh Abdus Samad, Faridpur District BNP Member Secretary A.K. Kibria Swapan, and veteran writer and journalist Mofiz Imam Milan, among others.

Speakers highlighted that one of the 31 points proposed by Tariq Rahman emphasizes healthcare. They stressed the importance of ensuring no one dies due to lack of treatment and standing by the common people. They noted that the late Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf, a former health minister, brought significant improvements to the healthcare sector during his tenure. The speakers also praised the Yusuf family’s long-standing tradition of serving the people of Faridpur, expressing hope that this legacy of service will continue.

During the day-long free eye camp, five distinguished eye specialists provided treatment and consultation to approximately 600 patients, receiving widespread appreciation from the local community.
