Four students of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) have been expelled for varying durations due to adopting unfairmeans in recent term examinations of different sessions on Monday.

University’s Registrar’s Office confirmed the mattrer

The expelled students are Shrabon Das from the Pharmacy Department (2022–23 session), Mahmudul Hasan Riyad from the Pharmacy Department (2019–20 session), Golam Sarwar from the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) Department (2021–22 session), and Md. Ashiq Iqbal Ador from the Agriculture Department (2019–20 session).

According to an official notice signed by the Acting Registrar, Mohammad Tamjid Hossain Chowdhury, the university’s disciplinary board made the decision in its meeting (2024/04) held on December 15, 2024. The notice states that, with the approval of the authorities, the following students have been expelled for different durations due to using unfair means in the university’s recent term examinations.

As per the notice, Shrabon Das from the Pharmacy Department (2022–23 session) was found in possession of unauthorized materials and was caught copying from them. Consequently, his examination for that particular paper has been canceled, and he has been expelled for six months. Similarly, Mahmudul Hasan Riyad from the Pharmacy Department (2019–20 session) was expelled for six months, with his semester exam for that paper also canceled for the same offense.

Furthermore, Golam Sarwar from the BMB Department (2021–22 session) was found using a mobile phone and possessing unauthorized materials during the examination. As a result, the disciplinary board decided to cancel his exam for that paper and expel him for one year. Additionally, Md. Ashiq Iqbal Ador from the Agriculture Department (2019–20 session) was caught using a mobile phone and possessing unauthorized materials while writing his exam. Consequently, his exam for that paper was canceled, and he has been expelled for six months from the date of the incident.
