Former Home and Commerce Minister and BNP Vice Chairman Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury attended a view exchange meeting with teachers in Mirzaganj Upazila, Patuakhali. on Friday.
The event took place at the premises of Rahman Ishaq Pilot Secondary School in Subidkhali. Teachers from various educational institutions in the area were present.
Presided over by Prof Akhtar Uddin, Principal of Subidkhali Government College, the meeting discussed issues concerning teachers’ welfare, the education system, and the need for good governance and fair elections in the country.
Among others who spoke at the event were former VP of BM College and Red Crescent Society Director Md. Zafar Imam Sikder, Prof Dr. Md. Delwar Hossain of Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Upazila Secondary Teachers’ Association President Md. Zakir Hossain, and Deuli Palli Mongal Secondary School Headmaster Abdus Salam Hawlader.
Also present were Primary Teachers’ Association President K.M. Razzak, Acting Principal of Subidkhali Darus Sunnat Fazil Madrasa Maulana Abu Saleh Md. Khairullah, and several local political, social, and educational leaders including Aminul Islam Khokon, Md. Jahangir Alam Farazi, Kaifur Rahman Zakir, Md. Nur Hossain Mridha, Md. Firoz Alam Goldar, and Md. Shahin Chowdhury Pasha.
Speakers emphasized the importance of ensuring teachers’ rights, improving the education sector, and maintaining peace and stability for sustainable national development.
