Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) has arrested five fraudsters including Chinese nationals for swindling a huge amount of money by offering them the opportunity to earn money online while sitting at home. Five mobile phones were seized from them during the operation.
They were arrested in a raid in the Bashundhara area of Bhatara police station in the capital. GMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) SM Shafiqul Islam gave this information on Tuesday afternoon.

The arrested are Chinese national Ma Fubin, Bangladeshi nationals Mizanur Rahman (31) and Abdul Sattar (42) of Tangail, Masum Billah (25) of Bogra and Asaduzzaman (32) of Dinajpur. They all live in the Bashundhara area of Bhatara police station in Dhaka metropolis.

The GMP official said that a smart team of the Gazipur Metropolitan Detective (North) Division, while conducting a cyber crime monitoring operation in the Gazipur Metropolitan area, conducted a raid in the Bashundhara area under Bhatara Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan on Tuesday morning based on specific information and arrested the five people. During this, 5 mobile phones used for fraud were seized from them.

During the mobile phone review and interrogation, the arrested people said that Chinese citizen Ma Fubin, who was in Bangladesh as an agent, and his associates living in China lured innocent and ordinary people of Bangladesh to earn online by adding them to the Telegram app WayFair Work Solutions01357 (Way Fair Works Solutions01357) and extorted a huge amount of money from them.
During the interrogation, they also said that the arrested Chinese citizen Ma Fubin used the bank accounts, bKash, and Nagad accounts of the accused Bangladeshi associates to transfer a huge amount of embezzled money from Bangladeshi people to their own accounts. The accused, in collaboration with other accomplices involved in the incident, had been embezzling money using Telegram ANS' WayFair Work Solutions01357 ID for the purpose of fraud in a pre-planned manner. A case has been registered against the arrested accused at GMP Sadar Police Station and efforts are underway to arrest other unidentified absconding accused involved in the incident, the police official said.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police Deputy Police Commissioner (DB-North) Rezaur Rahman, Deputy Police Commissioner (DB-South) Ashok Kumar Pal, Assistant Commissioner (DB) Amir Hossain and others were present at the press briefing.
