Fish markets in Manikchhari being monitored

The monitoring team of the Upazila Fisheries Department has monitored various fish markets in Manikchhari Upazila of Khagrachari to ensure uninterrupted fish supply and keep fish market prices affordable for all categories of consumers during the holy month of Ramadan.
On Thursday, one of the oldest markets in the upazila, Jogyachola Fish Market, Amtal Fish Market and Tintohari Fish Market, and on Wednesday, Manikchhari Raj Bazar was monitored by Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Mahmudul Hasan and Upazila Fisheries Office Field Assistant Milon Krishna Chakma.
At this time, Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Mahmudul Hasan said, "This monitoring program is being conducted to keep the market price of fish at a tolerable level for all categories of consumers during the holy month of Ramadan, 'keep market management in order, protect the rights of consumers, prevent the use of harmful chemicals or waste products or the supply of unhealthy fish to the market, and remedy existing inconsistencies in the fish market.'"
