
Father, son among 3 killed in Sariakandi road mishap

Three people, including a father and son, have been killed in a head-on collision between a sand-laden truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Bogra's Sariakandi. Wounded mother and daughter.on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Bipul Chandra Das, 38, of Kuthibari village in Saghata upazila of Gaibandha, his son Biplob Chandra Das, 5, and auto-rickshaw driver Shukur Ali, 40, of Sultanpur village in Shibganj upazila. Bipul's wife Mamta Rani and daughter Rupa Moni Das were injured.
Sariakandi police station OC Jamirul Islam said a large number of family members had come to his in-laws' house for Durga Puja holidays. They took a bus from Dhaka to Bogra and were on their way to Narchi village in an auto-rickshaw. The car collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
The car rammed into it. The car driver died on the spot. Local people rescued the injured and whisked him off to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Bipul and his son Biplob died around 9am while undergoing treatment there. The injured, identified as Mamta Rani and Rupa Moni, are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
