Eviction drive to reviver Buriganga continues : Taposh

A major portion of seven kilometer channels of original Buriganga, occupied by encroachers, will be reclaimed by next March, said Dhaka South City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh.
DNCC will continue its drive to free the river from grabbing, he added.
“The encroachers have been building various structures on the water for long. Alongside our eviction drive, we have given time to remove occupied establishments. If they do not eliminate their establishments as early as possible, we will demolish the structures, as well as we will free it completely from occupation.”
