The biggest hope of a mother's life is her child. She raises her child by sacrificing her own happiness and comfort, even going without food. However, at the end of her life, a helpless old mother from Hatia, Noakhali, had to approach the police station to seek justice after being beaten by that child.

Mohachena Begum (90), a resident of Ward No. 7 of Sonadia Union in the upazila, filed a written complaint against her son at Hatia Police Station on Saturday (August 1) afternoon. Earlier, the incident took place at her residence on the same morning.

According to the complaint, her son Md. Arif Uddin, daughter-in-law and some family members have been physically, mentally and financially torturing her for a long time. Most recently, on Saturday morning, they went to her house and beat up Mohachena Begum. During this time, they tried to snatch her gold ornaments and forcibly take away three cows and a bull from the house. When she resisted, she was beaten up indiscriminately. Another daughter-in-law, Jannat Begum, who came forward to protect her, was also attacked.

Mosehera Begum said, "The child I raised with difficulty is now attacking me. I want a fair trial. I also want my life to be safe."

Moshehera Begum and Jannat Begum, who were injured in the attack, were admitted to Hatia Upazila Health Complex. After receiving treatment, Moshehera Begum filed a written complaint with the police station.

However, the accused son, Md. Arif Uddin, denied the allegations. He said, "I did not beat my mother. My brother's wife was arguing with us. We had a fight with her. The allegations of beating my mother are not true."

Hatiya Police Station OC Mohammad Kabir Hossain said, "We have received a written complaint regarding the beating of the mother. The Jahajmara Investigation Center has been given the responsibility to investigate the matter. Necessary legal action will be taken after the investigation."
