Fish fry release programme in Boalkhali

A fish fry release programme was held in open and institutional water bodies under the revenue sector in Boalkhali, Chittagong in the fiscal year 2026-2027.
Alhaj Ershad Ullah, MP for Chittagong-8 constituency, was the chief guest at the program organized by the Upazila Fisheries Office on Monday.
Boalkhali UNO Mehedi Hasan Faruk presided over the program. Boalkhali Police Station OC Mozaffar Hossain, Upazila Livestock Officer Rumon Talukder, Upazila Primary Education Officer Harunur Rashid and Upazila Fisheries Officer Naeem Hasan were present.
Alhaj Ershad Ullah said that the release of pona fish plays an important role in increasing domestic fish production and conserving fisheries resources. He called on everyone to play an aware and responsible role locally, along with government initiatives to increase fish breeding and production in water bodies.
UNO Mehedi Hasan Faruk said, such programs need to be implemented regularly to increase the availability of domestic fish in open water bodies. He called on everyone to cooperate in stopping water body pollution and illegal fishing to protect fisheries resources.
Upazila Fisheries Officer Naeem Hasan said that this program has been implemented with the aim of increasing the production of domestic fish in open and institutional water bodies, natural reproduction of fish and conservation of aquatic biodiversity.
Also present at the program were Chittagong South District BNP member and former Upazila BNP convener Md. Shawkat Alam, Upazila BNP leader Haji Md. Ishaq Chowdhury, Upazila BNP former member secretary Hamidul Haque Mannan, BNP leader Nurul Karim, Boalkhali Press Club president Sirajul Islam, Panel Chairman Hasan Chowdhury, and various political leaders and officials from various administration departments.
