Musharraf Hossain Jewel, Mymensingh
Eid markets have been bustling in Mymensingh ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. The city's shopping centers are overflowing with shoppers. On March 26, when I visited various shopping malls in the city, I saw shoppers rushing to different markets to buy clothes of their family members' choice.
With the arrival of Eid, a special attraction towards famous and expensive clothes can be observed among the crowd. Shop owners have brought new clothes to the stores as per the demand of the customers.
In the city's Palika Shopping Mall, Ganginarpar, Munni Market, Asad Market, Bari Plaza, along with foreign clothes including Hiramandi, Persian, Sarara, Garara, Persian cut, Muskal, Afghan three-pitch, Persian dresses for women have come to the market in a new style.
The list of boys' clothing includes Punjabis, jeans, shirts, T-shirts and other various types of clothing. Shopkeepers in these markets say that there is a high demand for foreign dresses. However, due to the heat ahead, many people are buying domestic cotton clothes again. He said that this time the demand for cotton is a little higher than last time.
