Drug dealer detained with 2,154 pieces of yaba in Payrakunja

Bangladesh Coast Guard conducted a special operation and detained a drug dealer arrested with 2,154 pieces worth of 11 lakhs tk and one local gun on Wednesday in Payrakunja Patuakhail .
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid provided this information in a press release on Thursday morning.
According to the press release, based on secret information, at 3.00 am on Wednesday midnight, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Patuakhali in the area adjacent to the Payrakunja Bridge Project in Patuakhali. During the operation, the movement of an individual named Md. Shahin Hawlader (34) seemed suspicious. The operational team searched the individual and arrested him with 154 pieces of yaba worth around 77,000 taka.
According to the initial confession of the arrested individual, a subsequent search was conducted at his house at 3:00 PM, where 2,000 pieces of yaba worth 10 lakh taka and one local weapon were seized.
Legal proceedings are underway against the arrested individual and the seized evidence.
