Drilling of Tabgi-1 well in Shahbazpur gas field inaugurated

The excavation work of Tabgi-1 well of Shahbazpur gas field in Bhola district started on Friday. It is expected that 20/25 million cubic feet gas will be available from this well per day.
Mr Md Mahbub Hossain, Senior Secretary, Department of Energy and Mineral Resources, inaugurated the work as the chief guest.
Petrobangla Chairman Mr Nazmul Ahsan was present as a special guest in the opening ceremony. BAPEX managing director Mr Mohammad Ali presided over the event. BAPEX project director and Gazprom officials at various levels and print and electronic media journalists were present during the occasion.
It should be noted that the government is working to find out domestic energy sources. For this purpose, Petrobangla has planned to drill a total of 46 exploration, development and workover wells during the period 2022-25.
As a part of this, BAPEX has started drilling an exploratory well named Tabgi-1 in Bhola through Russian company Gazprom. Under this project, 2 more exploration wells Ilisha-1 and Bhola North-2 will be drilled in phases.
