
Discussion on National Jute Day held in Thakurgaon

National Jute Day was celebrated in Thakurgaon on Thursday.
On the occasion, a discussion meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room in the afternoon.
Jointly organized by the district administration and the District Jute Department, Thakurgaon Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Soleman Ali presided over the welcome speech, and Asim Kumar Malakar, District Jute Development Officer of the Jute Department, delivered the welcome speech.
Alamgir Kabir, Additional Deputy Director (Grains) of the Department of Agriculture Extension, Thakurgaon, Hafizur Rahman, Deputy Manager of Thakurgaon BSCIC, former Ameer of the District Jamaat Maulana Abdul Hakim, and President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Habibul Islam Bablu also spoke.
The overall program was supervised by Abinash Chandra Roy, District Jute Development Inspector of Thakurgaon Jute Department.
The speakers at the meeting said, ute is a cash crop, the contribution of jute is great. It is environmentally friendly, so its use should be increased. The use of jute should be increased in our country instead of polythene. The speakers emphasized on increasing the use of jute products as well as increasing jute cultivation. In addition, discussions were held on ensuring that jute farmers get fair price for their products.
Jute farmer Al Amin, jute farmers of the district, and various government and private officials and employees of the district were also present.
