An anti-drug discussion meeting was held in Gazipur to create awareness against drugs among students and guardians.

The meeting was held at Harinal High School in the city on Monday morning, organized by the Narcotics Control Department, Gazipur District Office.

The meeting was chaired by the school's headmaster Md. Akhter Hossain, and the main discussant Himebe Narcotics Control Department, Gazipur District Office Deputy Director Md. Imdadul Islam Mithun, Gazipur District Education Officer Al Mamun Talukder, Assistant Director of Narcotics Control Department, Gazipur District Office Shahin Mahmud and Inspector Mozammel Haque were present in the meeting. Highlighting the harmful aspects of drugs among students and guardians, the main discussant Md. Imdadul Islam Mithun said, "To prevent drug addiction, teachers, students, and guardians of educational institutions must be aware of drugs. Educational institutions must organize various programs including discussion meetings, debates, rallies, and sports competitions to inform students about the dangers of drugs.

It must be remembered that children and adolescents receive their first education in life from teachers. Therefore, in addition to teaching, it is the responsibility of every teacher to make students aware of drugs.
In his speech, District Education Officer Al Mamun Talukder addressed the students and guardians, saying that today's students are the main tool to build a smart Bangladesh in the future.

In the current situation of the country, drugs are spreading everywhere. Due to this terrible drug addiction, school and college-going students and young people of the younger generation are getting involved in misdeeds day by day. In this regard, every parent and teacher must pay attention to the behavior and activities of their sons and daughters and children.

Scales, pens, and notebooks with anti-drug slogans were distributed among the students.
