Discussion held in Bauphal on International Women's Day

A discussion meeting was held on the occasion of International Women's Day-2026 in Bauphal, Patuakhali, with the theme "Today's Action, Tomorrow's Justice - Protect the Rights of Women and Girls".The meeting was held at the Bir Uttam Shamsul Alam Auditorium of Bauphal Press Club on Thursday at 11 am. The event was organized by Speed Trust and in collaboration with LRD.Bauphal Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Ms. Jasmine Akhter was present as the chief guest at the event, chaired by former principal of Baufal Women's College Ohiduzzaman Supon.The chief guest at the meeting said that people from all levels of society should be aware of the need to establish women's rights and dignity. A just society can be formed if the safety, education and equal opportunities of women and girls are ensured.Among others, former vice-president of Baufal Press Club Delwar Hossain, former general secretary Ahiduzzam Duke, upazila information service officer Maryam Begum, and field assistant of the upazila livestock department, Mosha Rakhia Rahman Ritu, among others, spoke at the event.
After the discussion meeting, women from the local community cooperative group performed songs based on women's awakening and right.
