Disaster response mock drill held at Tangail Medical College Hospital

Keeping in mind the theme "In times of disaster, by everyone's side - first of all", a mock drill was held at Tangail Medical College Hospital on disaster preparedness, fire rescue operations, first aid, and immediate management of accident victims.

The mock drill was held at the 250-bed Sadar Hospital and the 500-bed Medical College and Hospital in Tangail on Wednesday.

Realistic exercises on firefighting, rescue operations, first aid and on-site patient management will be conducted in collaboration with various stakeholders. This event will test the hospitals' ability to safely evacuate patients, relatives and concerned persons and ensure emergency medical services during sudden accidents or disasters.

Various stakeholders, including the Fire Service and Civil Defense, are working to implement this mock drill, organized under the management of the hospital authorities.

Tangail Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque is under the overall supervision of the exercise. Additional District Magistrate Mahbub Hasan, District Superintendent of Police Shamsul Alam Sarkar, NDC Deep Bhowmik,
Director of the 500-bed Medical College Hospital, Dr. Md. Abdul Quddus, Deputy Director of the 250-bed hospital, Dr. Khandaker Sadequr Rahman, and various officials in government offices.
