Dipankar Talukder College renamed as Betbunia College

Dipankar College, located in Betbunia, Kaukhali Thana, Rangamati, has been renamed 'Betbunia College'.
The college was previously named after Dipankar Talukder, a member of parliament from Rangamati-299 Constituency
Rangamati Hill District Council has issued a notification in this regard.
This information was given in a notification signed by District Council Chief Executive Officer Khandaker Muhammad Rizaul Karim on the instructions of District Council Chairman, agriculturalist Kajal Talukder.
The order issued in the notification said that the concerned were instructed to immediately implement the change of name of 'Dipankar Talukder College' to 'Betbunia College'.
Kaukhali Upazila BNP President Md. Jahangir Hossain said that all the people of Kaukhali Upazila including Betbunia want that no government-funded institution can be named after an individual. The common people's demand is to change the name of Betbunia Dipankar College to 'Betbunia College'.
