Deepression in Bay : Rough weather in coastal belt, warning signal No 3 in Payra Port
Sowmetrow Sumon, Payra Port (Patuakhali)
Due to deep depression, Kalapara of Patuakhali has been receiving moderate to heavy rains intermittently for the past three years.
The Meteorological Office has recorded 60 mm of rain in the district in 24 hours from 9 am on Friday to 9 am on Saturday.
This has brought stagnation in public life. Common people are suffering. Incessant rains have caused waterlogging in various low-lying areas. Aman fields are submerged in rain water. Farmers are worried about this. Meanwhile, the Bay of Bengal adjacent to Kuakata is turbulent due to deep depression. The height of water in the rivers and the intensity of the wind has also increased more than usual. All seaports, including Pyara at Patuakhali, have been asked to display local warning signal No. 03 in case of gale force winds over the coastal areas.
All fishing trawlers are asked to stay safe.
Md. Didar Uddin Ahmed Masum, President of Mahipur Fishery Owners Cooperative Association, said that some of the district have taken safe shelter, the rest are coming.
