Daughter's son-in-law complained to police station after being beaten up by family members at Majhi's house in Amtoli village of Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj on Friday.

It is learnt that Rabeya, daughter of Majhi's house, Majhi's house in Amtoli village of Tongibari upazila, married Hossain, son of Ramzan Hawlader of Nandan village of Singher about 20 years ago.

Journalist Hossain said, our family was going well but due to the influence of Awami League, he started brutally torturing me. Whenever something happened in the family, my wife called her father, my father-in-law, Majhi, took his son, came home and abused my mother and father in foul language. For the peace of both of them, I moved to Majhi's house in Amtoli village with my wife and children. I was living in a tin shed building on the land given by my mother-in-law with my money.

Whenever there was a little trouble in the family, my wife complained to my father-in-law, who called me and abused me in foul language, saying that there was no justice for the girls of the Majhi tribe, and I silently endured the torture, just looking at the faces of the children.I have informed many people in Majhi's house but to no avail. For some days, I have not been going home due to my wife's arrogance. When I got my daughter's and son's phone calls, my in-laws' family members beat me and my daughter with sticks. On hearing my screams, the people around me came to my rescue and admitted me to the Tongibari Health Complex. They left my mobile phone behind. When I immediately reported the matter to the police station after receiving treatment at the Tongibari Health Complex, a team of Tongibari police went to the spot and recovered my phone. I filed a written complaint against 4 people at the Tongibari Police Station.

Tongibari Police Station OC Mohidul Islam Muhid said, legal action will be taken subject to investigation.
