Council of Morelganj Municipality BNP: Farid Elected President, Milon General Secretary

The 2025 biennial council of the Morelganj Municipality BNP in Bagerhat was held in a festive atmosphere. Voting took place on Wednesday (April 16) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the field of Asilaha Pilot High School.
Out of 639 voters, 596 cast their votes.
In the race for president, Shikdar Faridul Islam won with 334 votes. His opponent, Jahangir Al Azad, received 259 votes.
Asaduzzaman Milon was elected general secretary with a landslide victory, securing 513 votes, while Farhad Hossain received only 75 votes.
Md. Selim Molla was elected organizing secretary with 217 votes.
The election was monitored by Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam and other top leaders of the district BNP.
District BNP Joint Convener Khadem Niyamul Nasir said, “The democratic completion of the election has brought new enthusiasm among the leaders and activists.”
Celebrations and excitement were evident among supporters as the Farid-Milon panel secured victory.
