Construction of Judges Complex Court Building will soon begin in Kalapara to alleviate sufferings of justice-seekers
Gofran Palash, Kalapara (Patuakhali)
Md. Shahidullah, Chief Judicial Magistrate of the Patuakhali District and Sessions Judge Court, said, "The construction of the Judges Complex Court building will soon begin in Kalapara to alleviate the suffering of justice-seekers and ensure justice in Kalapara Upazila, Patuakhali.
Furthermore, since the rented, cramped building does not have enough seating for lawyers, judges, and justice-seekers, the court will be relocated to a new, larger rented building next month, where judicial activities will commence.
This will resolve the long-standing problem for lawyers and people seeking justice."
District and Sessions Judge Md. Shahidullah made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at an exchange meeting organized by the District Bar Association at the Upazila Bar building on Wednesday afternoon, following his inspection of the new rented building for the Kalapara Circuit Court.
During the meeting, he further said, "The government has taken the initiative to prepare designs for the construction of new District Judges Court buildings in 14 more districts soon. The construction of these buildings will commence shortly." He added, "Without informing anyone, I inspected the Kalapara court, witnessed the plight of the lawyers and justice-seekers, and with the help of the District Bar leaders and the Public Prosecutor, I took the initiative to relocate the rented court building and construct the new Judges Complex Court building. This has already been approved, and the people of Kalapara will soon reap the benefits."
The exchange meeting was moderated by Advocate Khandker Nasir Uddin, President of the Kalapara Circuit Court Bar Association and Organizing Secretary of the Upazila BNP. Special guests included Patuakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate Md. Morshed Alam and District Bar Association President Md. Humayun Kabir, among others. Sharif Md. Salahuddin, General Secretary of the District Bar Association, delivered the welcome speech.
Joint District Judge of the District Judges Court Parvez Ahmed, Kalapara Senior Judicial Magistrate Md. Rabbi Islam Rony, Senior Assistant Judge Md. Mohibul Hasan, and the Public Prosecutor of the District Judges Court and General Secretary of the District BNP, Adv. Mujibur Rahman Toton were present.
Earlier, when the judges of the District Judges Court arrived at the Kalapara Circuit Court Bar building, they were greeted with floral tributes by the senior lawyers practicing at the Kalapara Circuit Court. The judges later joined the lawyers for a luncheon.
