Community Policing Day celebrated in Rangamati

Various programmes have been organized to celebrate Community Policing Day 2023 with the theme "Police Janata Oikya Kari, Build Smart Bangladesh".
Rangamati District Police organized a discussion meeting at Kotyali police station premises on Saturday morning. Superintendent of Police Mr. Mir Abu Tauhid, BPM (Bar) presided over the event.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan, prominent social worker Rana Mohsin, Mayor Akbar Hossain Chowdhury, Chairman of Rangamati Sadar Upazila Shahiduzzaman Mohsin Roman, Assistant Captain (Superintendent of Police)-01APBN Md Tariqul Islam were present as chief guests on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner said that community policing was formed keeping in mind that the police and the public would work together to prevent crime. Community policing can play a very important role in curbing crime in society, including child marriage, drug prevention.
He said, that juvenile gangs which are rising age boys are getting involved in various types of crimes, it is due to the mistakes of the parents. It is very important to take care of what the child is doing, where he is going, who he is mixing with, in order to raise the children as ideal people.
The speakers said that through community policing, it has been possible to reduce social crimes including drugs, juvenile gangs to a large extent. This is the success of community policing. In the evolution of time, the type of crime can be of different types, so the speakers urged to increase the scope of community policing in the fight against crime.
