Coast Guard distributes free medical care, medicines in Shariatpur

The Bangladesh Coast Guard distributed free medical treatment and essential medicines to underprivileged and weather-affected people in Gosairhat upazila of Shariatpur on Thursday.
Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon, Media Officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters in a press release on Thursday afternoon.
He stated that alongside its core duties, the Bangladesh Coast Guard regularly conducts medical campaigns as part of its corporate social responsibility to provide healthcare access to coastal and riverside populations.
Under the management of the Coast Guard Dhaka Zone, the special medical camp was conducted from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM today at the Kuchaiptty Union Parishad premises under Gosairhat Police Station. The drive focused on providing emergency healthcare support to locals affected by the recent heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions. During the four-hour campaign, a total of 430 patients were provided with free consultations and necessary prescriptions.
The Coast Guard media official added that the maritime law enforcement force will continue to conduct such public welfare and humanitarian assistance programs in the future.
