Coast Guard anti-drug drive: 30,000 pieces of Yaba seized in Teknaf

The Bangladesh Coast Guard seized a large consignment of 30,000 Yaba tablets worth an estimated Tk 1.5 crore during a specialized anti-narcotic operation in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.
Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, Media Officer of the Bangladesh Coast Guard Headquarters said this in a prees release on Saturday morning.
Acting on a tip-off, a specialized operational team from Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a targeted raid in the Konapara area adjacent to Hnila under Teknaf Police Station at around 8:00 PM on Friday, July 10. During a thorough search of the perimeter, Coast Guard personnel uncovered the contraband pills hidden under the soil in a meticulously concealed underground bunker. Sensing the presence of the law enforcement team, the drug traffickers managed to flee the scene into the darkness, and no arrests could be made.
The process for formal handover to the local police station, and legal proceedings under the Narcotics Control Act have been taken.
The Coast Guard will continue to execute rigorous, intelligence-driven maritime and coastal sweeps to eradicate the illegal drug trade, the press release added.
