Civil Surgeon's Office's activities to prevent measles in Kishoreganj: Special surveillance in addition to regular vaccination

AZ Al Muzahid, Kishoreganj

The District Civil Surgeon's Office has started various public awareness activities, including strengthening regular vaccination programs to prevent measles in Kishoreganj.

A press release on Saturday (April 4) said that although Kishoreganj district is not currently included in the measles risk list, field-level activities have been increased to ensure the protection of children. In accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in addition to continuing the regular vaccination program in the district, initiatives have been taken to identify drop-out children and quickly bring them under vaccination.

According to sources in the Civil Surgeon's Office, activities to identify suspected measles patients, ensure rapid isolation, and provide necessary treatment and counseling have been strengthened at the field level. In particular, vitamin A capsules have been provided to children with or suspected measles and proper treatment has been ensured for hospitalized patients. In addition, work is underway to create a database of children aged 6 months to 5 years, so that quick action can be taken when special vaccination programs begin later.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Abhijit Sharma has urged parents to ensure their children are vaccinated on time and to contact the nearest health center for any health problems.
