Child drowned in Kalapara

A 2-year-old child named Shoaib drowned in Kalapara of Patuakhali. The incident took place at West Chapali village of Dhulasar union of the upazila at around 11 o'clock on Monday.
The deceased child is the son of Kazi Nazmul Ahsan Mithu, a resident of Nazrul Islam Road, Eatimkhana Area of Kalapara Municipality.
According to family sources, last Thursday, his mother went to West Chapli village of Dhulasar Union with the child Shoaib Ahmed to his maternal grandfather's house. The child drowned in the pond of the house while playing around 11 o'clock on Monday. Later, the child was rescued from the pond and brought to the Kalapara Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared the child dead.
A general diary has been filed at the Mohipur police station in this incident.
