A ten-member interim ad -hoc committee has been constituted to revive Chandpur Sahitya Academy.

This information has been confirmed by the office order dated 28 April 2024 signed by the President of Sahitya Academy and Deputy Commissioner of Chandpur, Md. Kamrul Hasan. whose commemorative number -05.42.13-.-28.-3.-58.24-248.

It is mentioned in the office order that an interim ad hoc committee was constituted on 24/022 to revive the Chandpur Sahitya Akademi, but the said committee did not make any significant progress in reviving the academy and the said committee was dissolved under the jurisdiction given in Article 14(4) of the Constitution as follows: An interim committee was formed.

The Interim Committee consists of Convener Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT), Member Secretary Upazila Executive Officer, Chandpur Sadar.The remaining eight (08) members are Additional Superintendent of Police, Sadar Circle, Chandpur, General Secretary of Chandpur District Scouts Ajay Bhowmik, rhymer and reciter Dr. Piyush Kanti Barua, president of Chandpur Press Club Shahadat Hossain Shanto, former principal of Kachua Bangabandhu Degree College journalist Jalal. Chowdhury, reciter and bank officer Shamim Ahmed Khan, poet and writer Muhammad Farid Hasan, writer and editor Kader Palash.

The office order also mentions that for the purpose of conducting the normal activities of the Academy within the next 3 (three) months for the purpose of forming the Executive Council, finalize the list of members of the General Council and ensure a suitable environment for the election. Founding members, executive council members, ordinary members mentioned in the old documents, publications, minutes of meetings etc. of the academy, who can be identified as ordinary members, to list them directly as ordinary members; To invite applications for initial membership by prompt notification / wide publicity and to admit eligible as ordinary members following Article 11(b) of the Constitution.

As per the above-mentioned paragraphs 2 and 3, after the completion of the activities/finalization of the list, to submit recommendations to the President of the Academy for the formation of a General Assembly consisting of those included as ordinary members as soon as possible and to apply to the President for the formation of an Election Commission for the conduct of fair and free elections.
