A 39-member committee of the traditional Chandpur Press Club of Bangladesh has been formed.

Shahadat Hossain Shanto (Dainik Manabkantha) has been elected President and Mahbubur Rahman Sumon (Dainik Ilshepar) as General Secretary in the newly formed committee.

The annual general meeting was held at the Chandpur Press Club auditorium on Saturday (December 30). Outgoing President of Press Club AHM Ahsan Ullah presided over the meeting chaired by Outgoing General Secretary of Press Club Al-Imran Shovan. The newly formed committee was unanimously approved in the meeting. Besides, the advisory council and various sub-committees were approved. After announcing the committee, the press club leaders congratulated the new president and general secretary.

Journalists Welfare Fund Sub-Committee: Convener Iqbal Patwari, Member Secretary Sohail Rushdie, Members Mizan Liton, Kader Palash and Salim Reza. Member Scrutiny Sub-Committee: Convener Ghiyasuddin Milan, Member Secretary Rahim Badsha, Members AHM Ahsan Ullah, Riyad Ferdous and Ibrahim Roni. Infrastructure Development Sub-Committee: Convenor Alhaj Ochman Gani Patwari, Member Secretary Munir Chowdhury, Members Mirza Zakir, AK Azad and Wadud Rana. Disciplinary Sub-Committee: Convener Jalal Chowdhury, Member Secretary Al Imran Shovan, Members AHM Ahsan Ullah, Farooq Ahmed and Chowdhury Yasin Ikram. The President and General Secretary of the Press Club shall be ex-officio members of each sub-committee.
