Case filed against NCP leader Kafi for land grabbing, extortion

A case has been filed against controversial content creator and NCP leader Nuruzzaman Kafi, his father and elder brother in Kalapara, Patuakhali, on charges of land grabbing and extortion. Abdur Rahim, acting headmaster of Khepupara Government Model Secondary School, filed the case in the Kalapara Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Sunday. The court has ordered the OC, Kalapara Police Station to investigate the allegations and submit a report.
According to the case, on July 11 at around 10:15 am, Nuruzzaman Kafi of Rajpara village, his father ABM Habibur Rahman and elder brother Mamun entered the land of Khepupara Government Model Secondary School, plot number 59, BS 12, Rajpara Mouza, with a soil cutting machine, van, spade and rake. Later, they tried to make a road by cutting the soil of the land and changing its shape. Upon receiving the news, the headmaster of the school along with 5 assistant teachers went to the spot and stopped the road from being built. Kafi got angry and demanded a bribe of 10 lakh taka from Abdur Rahim. When he refused to pay the bribe, he misbehaved with all the teachers and threatened them with murder and injury by pushing them.
Nuruzzaman Kafi told the media, "The heirs of this land filed a case for a long time and got a verdict from the Supreme Court. He purchased it from them on the basis of a pledge. The allegations against him and the case filed in the court are completely false, baseless and motivated.
